To the one who cant stand monday's -

The alarm goes off and you sit up to only realize that you accidentally set it for 9am instead of 7am...your heart starts to race because you realize you have a meeting that starts in 45 minutes and you only have 40 mins before you have to be on the road praying you don’t hit all of the red lights on the way to work. Frantically you jump in the shower and of course you get shampoo in your eyes because it wouldn’t be a hectic morning without washing your eyes out with some good ole Panten Pro V. You jump out and have like zero time to do your hair...why not wear the natural look, and then...you realize the shirt you wanted to wear is wrinkled AF and a stain from the liquid lipstick  you wore yesterday from when you were trying it on...seriously what else could go wrong...

Let’s face it we ALL get a case of the Monday Blues, especially when our alarm doesn’t go off…

I am seriously a victim of it, from the moment my alarm goes off I am already dreading it…

It’s like there is an immediate cast of overwhelm that comes with the start of the week, but what if it was flipped and Monday became your most favorite day of the week? Do I sound crazy yet? Trust me before I did these things I was crazy too, and tired like all the time.

So how do you beat your Manic Monday’s

and stop hitting the panic button…

here’s a few tips that do the trick –

One - Start each morning a little bit earlier, yup I know this sounds hella counterproductive but hear me out.

Starting each morning just a bit earlier will give you that YOU time before the day gets chaotic. If you enjoy writing use this time to write down some goals you have for the week, make them bit sized ones that you know you will accomplish. If you love coffee, why not sit and relax, enjoy a cup in your favorite mug instead of grabbing a to go cup in a panic to get out of the door in time. Or you can even change your workout time to the morning, you get it out of the way so you don’t have to dread going in the afternoon. Get those endorphins flowing and kick ass the rest of the day!

Two- AFFIRMATIONS! AFFIRMATIONS! AFFIRMATIONS!!!!

This is one of those things that takes time to make a daily habit but it honestly is my favorite thing to do in the morning when I get into the parking lot of work. I love in my mirror and tell myself “Today is going to be an amazing day and no one and nothing can take that from me, I am strong, beautiful and inspiring. Any challenges that may come my way are not challenges only lessons or rewards. The universe is abundant and I am so ready to receive it all”. Now of course yours does NOT have to be this long, I’ve been working on mines for almost two years and it puts me in the best mood before I head to work and deal with the nonsense from others. Remember you can’t control others attitudes but you sure the hell can control your own.  Simply start off small Hun, just tell yourself “I am beautiful and today is going to be amazing”, the more you say it the more you start to believe it.

PUT IT OUT INTO THE UNIVERSE and it shall be received.

Three –

As soon as you get to work or school there are probably 6 million things that you have to do…BUT do you really. Something I find super helpful to take the overwhelm out of things is to make a “To Do” and a “MUST DO” list. Everything on your MUST DO list is well… you probably guessed it, things that you MUST DO before the end of your work/school day; and everything on the To Do list won’t kill you if you don’t get to them right away. So, brainstorm what needs to be in which list, if you’re a pen and paper kind of person write it down and tape it to your computer so you stay on top of it and productive throughout the day and if you’re a tech savvy doll then go ahead and use the notes section, calendar or whatever apps you love to get them done. This will also counteract procrastination and keep you organized. Before you know it, it’ll be time to go home and you got everything that you HAD to do crossed off your list.

Four – This one is critical, after the work/school day is done and you get home take some time to unwind, and by that, I mean literally turn your mind off and stop thinking about the events of the day. If someone pissed you off let it go, they probably just have shit going on that has nothing to do with you. Didn’t finish a project…tomorrow is a whole new day and you will have a whole nother 24 hours to make it happen. This one ties into number one…but think of it as a bedtime edition. If you like baths, soak for a bit in some bubbles, with a candle lit, and a glass of wine or your favorite tea.  Have a sweet tooth, get a scoop of ice cream and put on another episode of that show you’ve been bingeing on. This is your time to relax and get ready for bed. Now if you are anything like I am, you want to continue working as soon as you get home, and if that is you set a time to when you are going to turn off your laptop and STOP everything. Trust me it will be hard at first but creating a soothing routine will make you a much happier person in the next day to come.

With that being said, this is where I leave you, it’s time for me to lay in bed and read my book, and unwind. If you try any of these or have any of your own leave them in the comment section below.
