You just got your first camera,
or you are simply just starting your journey, trying to navigate through the world of VSCO users and LooksLikeFilm pages...
You’ve watched all the youtube videos you could possibly find, you have even stalked ALL of your favorite photographers Instagram accounts -
because hello Brandon Woelfel is like major goals, fairy lights, neon lights, oversized glasses - duh.
Starting out in the sea of amazingness that is the photog world is super stressful. It’s just like when you are in school and you try to fit in. Sometimes the cool kids are mean AF and in our world sometimes photographers want to keep all of the information and knowledge to themselves...that is not the case for all of them - just some; but just like my parents told me when I was young ...fitting in doesn’t always happen and you are TOTALLY cool in your own way.
The same applies to your photographic style, editing and branding. I remember starting out and trying to get my work to look like everyone else’s, all of the super awesome editing they did, the way they had all of their post on websites, and getting published and featured. BUT here's the thing - you need to be an individual in this world, and that includes with your art…
YES photography is an art form don’t let anyone tell you differently.
So it is seriously okay to get inspired by other people’s work, and admire the things that they accomplish and produce, because heck I can list off at least 10 photographers who make me seriously question my skills and push me to be one of the greats like them…
it might take a hot minute but -
YOU will find your style, your voice and your craft in the most individualistic way possible and it SERIOUSLY takes time, like a crap ton of time. I’ve been shooting since 2012 and man oh man if you saw my first session’s you’d be like WTF, and that’s the thing, we all start somewhere small, unfamiliar, and sometimes even unskilled
(like auto shooting is the only thing you know about your camera) .
ut if you let your passion, optimism and positive vibes lead you…anything is possible
(seriously so cheesy, I know).
So DO YOU BOO...
the rest will fall into place, and remember you are cooler than the cool kids no matter how many times they try to put you down.
But seriously what is the next step...This is where I come in.

just like a hella younger version and the only magic i got running through my veins is my past experiences of what works and what doesn't according to what I have tried within my own photography business.
